Organic Emu Oil – Treating pain relief and Rosacea

When it comes to skin care, most dermatologists recommend that consumers look for moisturizers that aren’t loaded with chemicals. Emu oil is one product that fits this bill perfectly and is an excellent remedy for those looking for a way to keep their skin supple, smooth and blemish-free.

Emu oil is still fairly unknown in the western world though it is by no means a new breakthrough. In fact, it is one of the oldest natural medicines in the world. In Australia, the native Australian Aborigines have relied on the emu bird as a source of meat. The bird’s oil was just as valuable and preserved for its oil, which was used as medicine and ointment rub for treating minor wounds, such as burns, scrapes and cuts.

More recently emu oil has also been recognized for its ability to treat various skin conditions. People with skin diseases, such as psoriasis and rosacea, can rely on the emu oil as a natural topical cream with substantial healing and soothing properties.

Psoriasis is a condition that occurs due to an overactive immune system that causes the body to produce new skin cells faster than is normal. The excess skin layers do not shed and end up piling on top of one another. This ultimately leads to reddish patches of skin. Similarly, rosacea is another skin condition that causes red, pus-filled bumps on the face. It is especially prevalent among women in their 30s and 40s with fair skin complexion.

More doctors and dermatologists are recommending that patients treat abnormal skin conditions with emu oil. The substance is shown to have excellent transdermal properties, which enable the oil to penetrate beyond the surface of the dermis. It is also rich in linoleic acid and vitamin E, both of which have been linked to better skin-ageing appearance when applied topically. Emu oil also has no known side-effects; this makes it an excellent choice over other products that are filled with an extensive list of ingredients with scientific names.

Today, emu oil is increasingly found in more topical and cosmetic creams and lotions. There is also the choice of opting for pure emu oil, which consists of the oil in its purest form and natural state. Try to look for oil marketed as 100 percent pure rather than varieties loaded with fillers, which often do very little other than dilute the overall effectiveness of the oil.
